Designed for: People supporting a person with epilepsy who has been prescribed buccal midazolam for use in the event of a seizure-related emergency at home or in the community. Attendees must already hold a valid certificate in the administration of midazolam and we recommend getting in touch to discuss acceptable criteria if your previous training was delivered by another provider. 2022 Dates: 11 May, 9.30-12.30pm (in person, Edinburgh, EH12) 08 June, 9.30-12.30pm (in person, Edinburgh, EH12) 13 July, 9.30-12.30pm (in person, Edinburgh, EH12) Content: - This course will cover all the content listed in the Epilepsy Awareness & Administration of Buccal Midazolam course, but in a more concise manner. - Quick overview of the latest developments in the field of epilepsy - A more in depth look at the ILAE seizure classification system - Attendees will receive any relevant new resources from the main midazolam manufacturers This course is assessed and content reflects the Epilepsy Specialist Nurses Association (ESNA) June 2019 Guidelines. Our expert trainers also meet the ESNA guidelines on trainer qualifications and experience. Price is per person and a certificate of attendance will be issued after the course.
